MACE
Mace or better known as mace is a thin, bright red membrane that covers the skin of the nutmeg. Some people also know mace by the English name mace or salute seed. Uniquely, if this thin membrane is picked when it is not yet ripe, it will be pale yellow, then when dried it will be light brown. Meanwhile, the mace flower from the fruit that ripens on the tree will be bright red and when dried it will change color to dark red-brown. However, when stored long term, the color will change again to dark yellow or straw yellow.
